Heinrich Andres (5 May 1883, Bengel – 11 August 1970, Bonn) was a German educator and botanist known for his investigations of Rhineland flora.〔(Lexikon deutschsprachiger Bryologen, Volume 1 ) by Jan-Peter Frahm, Jens Eggers〕 Up until 1910 he was a schoolteacher in the town of Hetzhof, afterwards teaching classes in Bonn.〔(Archive.org ) Taxonomic literature : a selective guide to botanical publications and collections with dates, commentaries and types.〕 He was the taxonomic authority of the genera ''Monotropastrum'' and ''Monotropanthum'' as well as of numerous species within the plant family Ericaceae.
